Religious and Cultural Voices Meet in Madrid

A recent gathering in Madrid welcomed faith communities, cultural voices and social actors to reflect on the World Day for Cultural Diversity. The event, hosted by Fundación Mejora at the national headquarters of Scientology in Madrid, placed emphasis on education, prevention and dialogue as tools against prejudice. The round table included a representative of the Bahá’í Community of Spain, a specialist from the Madrid Municipal Police Diversity Management Unit, flamenco artist Tito Losada, a Roma guitarist and composer, and human rights educator Denise González. Speakers offered different experiences and viewpoints on how education can help build more inclusive communities.

In the discussion, participants considered themes such as human rights, cultural identity and respect for differences.
